Understanding Changes in excess solar compensation logic (Italy and Germany)

The excess solar compensation logic for customers in Italy and Germany is being updated to better reflect the management of surplus electricity, which is handled through incentives such as the Feed-in Tariff (FIT).

Customers in Italy and Germany receive an incentive of Euro 0.1 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of excess energy generated. This incentive is provided for any surplus energy that is exported to the grid.

In the below example the excess energy generated is 747.58 kWh hence the incentive is 747.58*0.1 = € 74.76
