Custom imagery plays a critical role in producing accurate solar designs where Satellite imagery is found to be outdated, low-resolution, or misaligned.
Custom imagery allows you to:
- Reflect recent site changes (new roofs, additions, obstructions)
- Design for new constructions where roof is not yet built.
- Place trees, vents, skylights, and obstructions accurately which are not visible from satellite image.
- Design higher-resolution layouts for larger rooftops.
Accepted file formats for custom imagery include PNG and JPG JPEG but not PDF & DXF.
After verifying the file format, follow the steps on this article to upload your image:
- Navigate to the design page & click on the Picture Icon on the bottom right on the Design area.
- Once you see a pop-up prompt of Review & Upload Drone/Architect/HD Image, click continue & select the image you want to upload.
- From the right-hand side, use the Scale Image option to scale the image as appropriate.
- The uploaded image may need to be manually dragged to align correctly with the map background.
- If the image includes a known scale, the Scale tool on the RHS can be used (this step is optional).
- If no scale is present, the user must manually resize the image using the corner pins.
- In either case, the image is resized and aligned to fit properly over the map background.
- To Rotate image, use rotate tab from right hand side and position the image as appropriate or use the orange button on top of the image.
- Use Opacity option to increase/decrease the opacity of the image up to the desired clarity.
- Click Save Image.
- You can now start designing on the image from the left-hand side options.
- Post completing the design , you can also toggle off the show site image option to turn off visibility on the final proposal.
